Temporary and Permanent visa classes are available for business
owners, investors or senior executives. There are also visas
available to overseas employees who are sponsored by an Australian
employer. Working holiday visas are also available for some passport
holders that are aged 30 years or under.

Visas
for Skilled People
The skilled stream of Australia's migration program targets people
who are highly skilled, under 45 years of age, and who will quickly
make a contribution to the Australian economy.
You can generally apply both within Australia or offshore. There
are also various streams within Skilled Migration that cater for
NZ Citizens, International Students who have finished studies in
Australia, those that have a family sponsor in Australia, and those
who wish to settle in regional areas of Australia.

Visas for Couples
In this area there are visa classes for people who are wanting
to live in Australia with their spouse or partner (as a married
or de facto couple) or wish to travel to Australia as a fiancé/fiancée
to marry an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible
New Zealand citizen. There is also a subclass available to same-sex
couples.

Visas for Family Members
There are 3 categories of family visas. These are visas
for a Child, a Parent or an Other Family relative of
an Australian.
The Child stream provides visa options for dependent children (either
natural, adopted or stepchildren) or an Australian sponsor. There
are also provisions for orphaned children to be sponsored.
The Parent stream provides visa options for people who are the
parent of a child who is a settled Australian citizen, permanent
resident or eligible NZ citizen.
The Other Family stream provides visa options for Aged Dependent
Relatives, Remaining Relatives or Carers.

Visas
for Students
Student visas are available for people who want to undertake an
approved course of study in Australia. You need to demonstrate
that you are able to support yourself financially while in Australia,
and that you will study on a full-time basis.
If you hold a student visa, you may apply for permission to work
up to 20 hours per week while studying.

Other
Temporary Visas
There are a range of temporary visas available to come to Australia
for tourism or holidaying, for short business trips, for medical
treatment, to attend a conference or event, to spend some time
during your retirement or to visit for example.

for Refugees or Asylum Seekers
The Humanitarian Program comprises two components: offshore resettlement
for people in humanitarian need overseas; and onshore protection
for those people already in Australia who arrived on temporary
visas or in an unauthorised manner, and who claim Australia’s
protection.
